The Rooms that Hold Motherhood

This photo is of the couple embracing in love and appreciating one another and the live that is growing inside her. The design elements used in this are balance and closure (triangle - from eyes to stomach). This image portrays to the overall story by it being the start of the journey. Both parents present and excited for the next step.
This image uses emphasis and was shot on a vertical axis. There were also tonal qualities - borderline affinity. Her stomach and the curtains in the background were around the same shade, so the hands really created the illusion that there was something there. The hands are the main focus. The story is the father feeling the baby kick for the first time. This plays into the journey of life and feeling it become a reality, slowly but surely.
This plays heavily with emphasis and contrast. This image tells you the sex of the baby and that the parents know. This image fits within the story by adding in the element of the parents knowing the gender and preparing a room.
This image uses line and contrast to highlight the placement of the picture resting on the bed frame. The story here is that the mom will protect her with all her might and love her the same. A daily reminder for her and her baby. This fits in the overall story by, again, giving you the gender and the mother preparing not only the room, but herself for the baby's arrival.
The shot also places with emphasis and line. This line is diagonal and the shot is from below which gives of the effect that she is feeling powerful and content. This photo is showing the soon to be mother fixing the curtains for the baby's room and smirking humbly. This is her putting the finishing touches on the room.
This uses planes and was shot on a vertical axis. The soon to be mother, is looking forward to the day her baby arrives and can't wait to have the crib full. This fits into the story because she has finished the room and is now enjoying her work and is feeling peaceful in knowing the baby will have a safe and well equipped room to live in.
Emphasis is played with here. The story behind this image is the mother's love and appreciation. This shows you who she is, utilizing her kind eyes. This fits into the story by showing you the woman who is about to birth her child. This is the woman who put in hard work for 9 months.
This plays with tone, contrast, and emphasis. She is looking back at the earlier months. This ties into the overall story by the mother sitting in the baby's room looking at her sonograms. She is ready to finally see her baby.
This plays with space and linear movement. She is holding her stomach talking to the baby. This fits into the story by the use of the room and the color story. She knows she is about to bring life into the world.
This image plays with orientation, contrast, and quality. This is the mother calm and ready for the big day. Resting on the couch after having a final touch up of the baby's room. This fits into the story by the mother taking a moment for herself. She has just finished the room and is ready for the next adventure into motherhood.
